Community ForumCategory: Adobe PDF LibraryFont substitution when embedding
Neph asked 2 weeks ago

I made a program to embed fonts inspired by your sample EmbedFonts.
This works great but sometimes, the pdf document has a custom font wich is not embedded in the document. Therefore we have no replacement for it and the program doesn’t embed it.
Adobe reader tends to replace these fonts with the generic Adobe sans MM font and i want to apply the same type of procedure when embedding non existing fonts.
What’s the good practice in this case?
Is it possible to embed the generic Adobe sans MM font in replacement of my unknown font? I couldn’t find a way to load and substitute it in my program
Or should i just replace it by another font (like Arial). What font is the closest to Adobe Sans MM? So i can have the same render as adobe reader
Thank you in advance!
