Community ForumCategory: PDF OptimizerError trying to use “convert-profile”: “uswebcoatedswop”
Scott asked 3 months ago

I am trying to use a color conversion profile in PDF Optimizer which is located here in PDF Optimizer’s install location:
C:\zUtils\PDF Optimizer\Resources\Color\Profiles\
The actual file is: USWebCoatedSWOP.icc
I tried to use that profile in my JSON file like this:
“color-conversion”: {
“enabled”: “on”,
“color-convert-action”: “convert”,
“convert-intent”: “profile-intent”,
“convert-profile”: “uswebcoatedswop”
},

But when I run Optimizer it gets this error:
PDF Optimizer 1.6.1 Copyright 2017-2019 Datalogics, Inc. All Rights Reserved
ERROR: The color profile could not be loaded from the specified path
ERROR: Unable to initialize target color profile
Error code: 1005
How do I get PDF Optimizer to use color profiles other than the ones listed in the documentation?
Thanks!

Hi Scott,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. You’ve helped to identify a section of the documentation that could use a little polish! So thanks for helping here.

What you need to do is specify the full filepath of your color profile (no matter its location). So something like this should work fine:

“color-conversion”: {
“enabled”: “on”,
“color-convert-action”: “convert”,
“convert-intent”: “profile-intent”,
“convert-profile”: “C:\Program Files\Datalogics\PDF Optimizer\Resources\Color\Profiles\uswebcoatedswop.icc”
},

Let us know if you continue to run into any issues with this particular area.

Thanks!
